A
report from Blackpool

The Dandy Owners Club was set up in May 1995 for owners of Dandy Folding Campers. As designs, with units that are 25 years old regularly attending meetings. At the first meeting held at Sutterton Caravan and Camping Centre 60 units were present and 21 of these are still members of the club.
Today the club has about 250 unit members with new members joining regularly; New members rally with the club for the first time and invariably rally for a second or more times. Rallies are held at various locations on recognised camping and caravan sites across Great Britain, with the country split into seven regions, and a rally held in each one to spread the locations as fairly as possible. Numbers of units attending these rallies are frequently above 40 for a weekend rally with members ranging in age from under 12 months to over 75 years. 2005 was the Clubs tenth Birthday with many events including a Re-Union rally taking place, inviting ex-members to join us.
2008 will see the Club holding its 100th Rally at the Annual General Meeting in May.
Whilst the club is set up to provide support for members it also helps, where possible, other owners of Dandy Campers or potential new owners who want first hand experience of these units. The club, through its members, has a wealth of experience of camping across Eastern and Western Europe, the problems of taking a unit to the Isles of Scilly as well as full technical knowledge of most the units still in use today.
The Club produces its own quarterly magazine which is full of information, technical articles, and rally reports and much more.
The Club also welcomes owners of the later Riva models as well as the older manufactured Dandy.
