Riva
make a Dash for the N.E.C.
Gerry
and I visited the Motorhome and Caravan Show on Friday (19th
October) the new model had pride of place on the Riva stand.
‘An
entry level or first time buyer model’ had centre stage. Priced at just over
£3,000 it has been designed with young families in mind but interestingly
enough the Show model had already been snapped up by a couple of more mature
years.
As
expected the ‘solid door and window ends’ have gone, to be replaced with
P.V.C. ends, the door is zipped as a tent and the window is clear P.V.C with a
vent and flap. There are no internal fittings, other than two small lockers
fitted to the left and right of the door. The Show model had a ‘beanstalk
kitchen unit but just for display purposes. It has been planned so that
internal fittings can be added at a later date, if required. The settee has
been replaced by a second double bed, both of which are capable of being
enclosed with a roof liner and curtains similar to the inner tent in a frame
tent. The chassis was very much as standard, Dart size, with a gas bottle box.
The unit comes complete with a Sun Canopy. Of cause as usual, the full range
of additional accessories is available to suit the individual customer.
Well
worth considering by a family looking moving to their first Folding Camper
from a frame tent but it is also sufficiently versatile for older people
because of it being much lighter to handle.
